Graphite Drawings

Out of Water (2024)

Graphite on paper
20″ x 16″

This drawing was inspired by a collage I created, and it won first place in the 2025 Burbank Youth Art Expo Competition. I drew from my experiences of growing up as a mixed Asian American and from the journey I’ve taken in learning to understand my cultures authentically.

This drawing also won first place in a regional juried competition hosted by Congresswoman Laura Friedman. The work is on its way to Washington, DC, to represent Southern California in an exhibit in the halls of Congress.

Portraits of Kindness (Bertha & Sevia)

Graphite on paper
9″ x 12″

For the past four years, I’ve been part of an organization dedicated to creating portraits for children and mothers all over the world who’ve faced neglect, abuse, loss of family, extreme poverty, or who are living in communities with few resources. These portraits were drawn as part of my contribution to the Portraits of Kindness club and were sent to Bertha and Sevia in Malawi, Africa.
